Window Cleaning Tips
Everybody likes to have their windows clean throughout the year, but it would be unreasonable to have the Squeaky Clean come out every time your kids touch the glass doors with sticky peanut butter hands, or your dog slobbers on the windows. We know that little things are bound to happen, but it is very easy to touch up a few things here and there to ensure that your windows stay clean until Squeaky Cleans next visit. Here are a few window cleaning tips that any home owner can use:
-If you have kids, or a dog, it is inevitable that sooner or later your kids will touch some of the windows with their sticky hands, or your dog will slobber on the windows. Every couple of
days, or as frequent as needed, take some Windex and remove the stickiness. Often times after doing this there will be a residue left behind, our secret is to take a piece of dry steel wool and buff out the residue that is left behind. This will give you results close to a professional and hold you over until our next visit.
-Tape on a window is often a pain to remove. We suggest wetting the area down with Windex and using a small razor blade to pull up the tape. If any residue from the tape is left on the window you can go over the area with the razor multiple times until the residue is gone.
-When vacuuming your floor take a few seconds to vacuum out the dust in the track your window sits in. After vacuuming, take a damp cloth and do a quick wipe down of the track. This will prevent your tracks from getting a build-up of dirt and grime, and will maintain them until our next scheduled cleaning.
-Keeping your blinds clean is an excellent idea in order to maintain your window’s cleanliness. If your blinds are really dusty, every time you raise and lower them, dust is shot into the air and hits your windows. Once a week, or whenever you dust the rest of your house, take a microfiber duster and quickly go over the blinds to eliminate the dust that can potentially make your windows dirty. This will maintain the cleanliness of your windows and keep them looking nice until your next professional cleaning.
